I think these were a dictation format a lot like the GE Play-Talk which used a magnetic disc head to record and playback sound. I would like to get my hands on one of these recorders in my pursuit of collecting odd audio recorders

The later "Diamond Discs" are not actually hard to find with a little patience. I think I paid about $30-$35 for my nearly full box. The $149 shown in the original link is absurdly high.
