Gang,
Well, I am not going to get into a debate about Edison. Let's just say that after reading many books on him and a long career as an electrical engineer working and developing products in industry I have a lot of respect for him and he is a real hero of mine.

Re: Edison approving records
Not sure how much developing of electrical recording was really going on at Orange. Edison Inc. used G.E. electrical recording equipment for their first electrical releases in mid-1927.epigramophone wrote: ↑Thu May 20, 2021 5:51 am I have heard that Edison's sons added jazz, which Edison hated, to the catalogues during his absences.
It has also been said that the belated development of the electrical recording process took place in secret without Edison's knowledge. His sons were simply trying to reverse the decline in the company's fortunes.
