Gotta love it when they do that on nearly 100 YO original 78s. Incidentally, your version is from mid June 1928 and is a real stomper, as you know. the 1923 version was a piano solo and issued on Gennett.

In the USA, pre-1923 sound recordings are public domain, but 1923 and later are still subject to copyright protection.gramophone-georg wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 5:29 pmGotta love it when they do that on nearly 100 YO original 78s. Yes, I know... because Sony was afraid to let Elvis and the Beatles go PD, they boinked everyone. That doesn't mean I have to like it.52089 wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 5:43 pmIn the USA, pre-1923 sound recordings are public domain, but 1923 and later are still subject to copyright protection.gramophone-georg wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 5:29 pmGotta love it when they do that on nearly 100 YO original 78s. Ask Wyatt (MicaMonster) to overhaul and tune your existing soundbox, or upgrade to a Victrola No 4 and you'll be amazed at the difference!Edisonfan wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 7:46 pmgramophone-georg wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 5:29 pmGotta love it when they do that on nearly 100 YO original 78s. The other problem is, SONY has all of RCA Victor’s Catalog! Even though this recording was before RCA took over the Victor name, and company.

Here's a Victor II with an Exhibition that I had "Wyattized" playing a Columbia Viva Tonal record from 1928:Edisonfan wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 7:50 pmThank you!gramophone-georg wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 7:49 pmAsk Wyatt (MicaMonster) to overhaul and tune your existing soundbox, or upgrade to a Victrola No 4 and you'll be amazed at the difference!
