Re: 4 boxes of early 78s for $10
Last weekend some guys told me about an estate sale 2 miles from the house with old radios and Victrola stuff. Picked up another huge box of 78s for $10. Now my garage is literally half full for records in a month… and I could easily go years and not find anything. My luck is never that good. For some strange reason it’s been an awesome year for this stuff around here!

Same with cylinders with me this year. it’s only June and I know I got about 100-150 more cylinders this year thanks to Jerry and the one lady back in April! And managed to get titles I never thought I would and not to mention some brown wax records too.Jop Amberola 30 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 10:54 am Last weekend some guys told me about an estate sale 2 miles from the house with old radios and Victrola stuff. oh my GODJop Amberola 30 wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 11:05 am Replied to a local FB Marketplace ad this week selling very old 1900-1930 78 records. Seller told me they were gone. Sure enough… went to our local weekend flea market this morning and they’re sitting on a seller’s table. 4 boxes for $10. Probably at least 200 total. Amazing how fate works out!

Congratulations on the haul.
If I had any storage space left, I would be jealous.

Just an update since I see there was a fairly recent reply and wasn’t able to get my account working here for a year.
Still having a blast with that huge $10 haul from May 2022.
Ended up buying an Edison LC-38 console not long after the haul in June 2022 and now can play those. Got a bulk lot of 60 DDs for $40 on FB not long after.
Bought a Victor VV-VI in July 2022… so also have that.
Bought a Victor VV 4-3 Orthophonic “Consolette” on FB in March 2023 for $75 that came with at least 60 early 78s with some “Hit Of The Week” mixed in.
Other than that… local area has been dry since.

can you use a red stylus to play records like these?
