Question About Origin Of Fats Waller Recording

Post by ChesterCheetah18 »

Hi folks. Rust's discography says Waller recorded a version of this title for Victor in 1934 that was rejected. The recording of it released on Bluebird 5 or 6 years later is not even close. This same recording is included in two compilations I have, both produced in Italy. Does anyone know the origin of it? Is it possibly the "rejected" recording? Thanks for any input.

Steve

There's two released recordings, five years apart.

The first one seems to have been issued only in LP form... so maybe a rescue from the Victor vaults, unissued at the time of recording.
