Here is a strange record by The State Jazz Orchestra of the USSR; the recording, if not this record itself, dates to 1943 during WWII. This record is obviously intended for an English speaking market. The person I got it from is quite certain that it was acquired during WWII in Canada. There is no label name on the record, just an image logo. I have a few other records with the same label. None are as curious as this one, however.
I wonder if anyone knows who pressed the record and what the label name is. Made in Canada or the US or in the USSR?

Re: Russian Label
The recording industry in the Stalinist USSR was state owned, so no "brand" necessary. Later postwar issues tend to just be branded as "USSR" or "CCCP" if for home consumption. The title is a Soviet anti- Hitler war song, to the tune of "Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen".

What little is known about The State Jazz Orchestra of the USSR and its history is dismally interesting.
And this particular recording is particularly strange -- sort of Jazz but not totally in the Jazz idiom/groove - and some bizarre scat singing.
Love your avatar BTW.
