ChatGPT generated songs about machines and artists!

Post by AmberolaAndy »

Ok I decided to finally register for that ChatGPT thing and see what the fuss was about.

I thought, why not see if it can generate some song lyrics about our hobby, artists, and machines.

Here’s what it said when I told it to write a song about the Orthophonic Victrola and the 1927 Bristol sessions:

Verse 1:
In the hills of Virginia, in '27
The sound of music rose up to heaven
From the mouths of legends, like the Carter Family
Their songs, forever etched in history

Chorus:
And on that day, the Orthophonic Victrola played
Recording the sound, that would never fade
In the Bristol Sessions, the world was changed
By the magic of music, that still remains

Verse 2:
With Ralph Peer behind the mic
He captured the spirit, of the Appalachians right
The old-time melodies, and the heartbreakin' ballads
The roots of country music, that still hold us captive

Chorus:
And on that day, the Orthophonic Victrola played
Recording the sound, that would never fade
In the Bristol Sessions, the world was changed
By the magic of music, that still remains

Bridge:
The hills may be gone, and the times may have changed
But the music that was born, still echoes in the plains
For the legacy lives on, in every note and chord
And the spirit of the music, forever adored

Chorus:
And on that day, the Orthophonic Victrola played
Recording the sound, that would never fade
In the Bristol Sessions, the world was changed
By the magic of music, that still remains

Outro:
So here's to the music, of the Bristol Sessions
And the Orthophonic Victrola, that made the impressions
May the spirit of the songs, forever ring true
In the hearts of the people, and the music that they do.

What do you guys think? Not bad for something the computer made up.

Here’s a song it generated about Ada Jones. Not 100% accurate but quite fun!

Verse 1:
She was born in 1873,
A talented lady, for all to see,
She had a voice that could light up a room,
Ada Jones, she'd sing a tune.

Chorus:
Ada Jones, Ada Jones,
Her voice would make the angels moan,
From Vaudeville to the silver screen,
Ada Jones, her voice was serene.

Verse 2:
She started out in the chorus line,
But her voice, it was just so fine,
She worked her way up to the top,
Ada Jones, she just wouldn't stop.

Chorus:
Ada Jones, Ada Jones,
Her voice would make the angels moan,
From Vaudeville to the silver screen,
Ada Jones, her voice was serene.

Verse 3:
She recorded over 5,000 songs,
With her voice, she could do no wrong,
She was a star, a shining light,
Ada Jones, she was a delight.

Chorus:
Ada Jones, Ada Jones,
Her voice would make the angels moan,
From Vaudeville to the silver screen,
Ada Jones, her voice was serene.

Verse 4:
She passed away in 1922,
But her legacy, it still rings true,
She was a trailblazer, a pioneer,
Ada Jones, she had no fear.

Chorus:
Ada Jones, Ada Jones,
Her voice would make the angels moan,
From Vaudeville to the silver screen,
Ada Jones, her voice was serene.

Outro:
So here's to Ada Jones, a legend in her own right,
Her voice, it still shines bright,
From the past to the present day,
Ada Jones, she'll always stay.

And here’s a song about “That Moldy Columbia Cylinder”

Verse 1:
Found it in the attic, gathering dust,
An old Columbia Cylinder that I almost missed,
It was covered in mold, looking quite grotesque,
But something about it made me quite impressed.

Chorus:
That moldy Columbia Cylinder,
A treasure in disguise,
Its sound is like no other,
A musical surprise.

Verse 2:
I put it on the player, with some hesitation,
But as it spun around, a magic sensation,
The crackle and pop, the sound so pure,
It was like a time machine, taking me to another era.

Chorus:
That moldy Columbia Cylinder,
A treasure in disguise,
Its sound is like no other,
A musical surprise.

Verse 3:
The melodies that came from that old thing,
Were timeless, and it made my heart sing,
It was like I had discovered a secret,
A piece of history that was meant to be kept.

Chorus:
That moldy Columbia Cylinder,
A treasure in disguise,
Its sound is like no other,
A musical surprise.

Bridge:
Now I can't stop listening to it,
That moldy Columbia Cylinder,
It's like I found a lost gem,
And I'll never let it go.

Chorus:
That moldy Columbia Cylinder,
A treasure in disguise,
Its sound is like no other,
A musical surprise.

Outro:
So don't judge a book by its cover,
Or a cylinder by its mold,
For there may be magic in the old,
Just waiting to be told.

That one about the Bristol sessions wasn't half bad. I've heard worse Americana.

I bookmarked the link for the ChatGPT a while back and still haven't bothered to register. Maybe I will soon.

They are all interesting and a good start that need some humanizing. :coffee:

But now I got the bush button blues.

This is the Ballad of Bell & Tainter

Verse 1:
In a time of wonder, in a world of change,
Two men worked hard, to rearrange,
The way we hear, the way we see,
They invented something, that would set us free.

Chorus:
This is the ballad, of Bell and Tainter,
Inventors of the Graphophone, an audio painter,
They captured sound, they recorded light,
Their legacy lives on, through the power of sight.

Verse 2:
With a spinning disc, and a needle in hand,
They captured sound, from all across the land,
The voices of history, the songs of the past,
All recorded and saved, to last and last.

Chorus:
This is the ballad, of Bell and Tainter,
Inventors of the Graphophone, an audio painter,
They captured sound, they recorded light,
Their legacy lives on, through the power of sight.

Bridge:
Their invention changed the game,
It brought us music, it brought us fame,
From vinyl to digital, the sound still lives,
Thanks to Bell and Tainter, who gave and gives.

Chorus:
This is the ballad, of Bell and Tainter,
Inventors of the Graphophone, an audio painter,
They captured sound, they recorded light,
Their legacy lives on, through the power of sight.

Outro:
So let us remember, these two great men,
Who gave us something, that will never end,
A gift to the world, that we can share,
Thanks to Bell and Tainter, who dared to care.

Here’s a song about avoiding Crap-o-phones.

You're searching for a classic sound,
But there's a danger lurking around,
A fake reproduction, that might look the same,
But it won't play like the original's fame.

Chorus:
Don't buy that Indian HMV gramophone reproduction,
It might seem like a good deal, but it's a production,
Of low-quality materials, and poor design,
Don't be fooled, by its outward shine.

Verse 2:
You might be tempted, by its vintage charm,
But the truth is, it won't do any harm,
It won't play your vinyls, with the right tone,
And you'll be left with a gramophone, that just moans.

Chorus:
Don't buy that Indian HMV gramophone reproduction,
It might seem like a good deal, but it's a production,
Of low-quality materials, and poor design,
Don't be fooled, by its outward shine.

Bridge:
Invest in an original, or a quality replica,
One that will play, without any hiccup,
Do your research, read the reviews,
And you'll find a gramophone, that won't give you the blues.

Chorus:
Don't buy that Indian HMV gramophone reproduction,
It might seem like a good deal, but it's a production,
Of low-quality materials, and poor design,
Don't be fooled, by its outward shine.

Outro:
So when you're searching, for that vintage sound,
Remember this song, and don't be bound,
By the temptation, of a cheap reproduction,
And choose wisely, for your musical production.

Here’s the Enrico Caruso Rap

Verse 1:
Enrico Caruso, the king of the opera,
He sang with heart, he sang with soul, ya
Born in Italy, in Naples to be exact,
His voice was so big, it would fill a whole track.

Chorus:
Enrico Caruso, the greatest of them all,
His voice was a blessing, it would never fall.
He sang with passion, he sang with flair,
He was the man, he was beyond compare.

Verse 2:
He sang in New York, he sang in London town,
His voice was so beautiful, it would never let you down.
He sang in Italian, he sang in French,
He was the king of the opera, it was a cinch.

Chorus:
Enrico Caruso, the greatest of them all,
His voice was a blessing, it would never fall.
He sang with passion, he sang with flair,
He was the man, he was beyond compare.

Verse 3:
His voice was a gift, it was a true treasure,
He sang from his soul, he sang with such pleasure.
He sang of love, he sang of pain,
He sang with such power, it was insane.

Chorus:
Enrico Caruso, the greatest of them all,
His voice was a blessing, it would never fall.
He sang with passion, he sang with flair,
He was the man, he was beyond compare.

Outro:
Enrico Caruso, we honor your name,
Your voice will live on, it will never fade.
You were a legend, a true icon,
Enrico Caruso, you will always be gone.

He’s The Edison Phonograph Song in the style of a 60s dance craze song.

Verse 1:
Gather 'round, gather 'round, don't be shy,
We've got a new invention that's gonna make you fly.
It's the Edison Home Phonograph, don't you know,
The music's gonna move you, gonna let your body go.

Chorus:
Come on baby, let's do the Phonograph dance,
It's the latest craze, gonna give you a chance.
To let it all out, to let it all in,
The music's gonna take you, gonna make you spin.

Verse 2:
The sound is groovy, it's gonna take you high,
The records spin so fast, gonna make you fly.
The Edison Home Phonograph, it's the real deal,
Gonna make you move, gonna make you feel.

Chorus:
Come on baby, let's do the Phonograph dance,
It's the latest craze, gonna give you a chance.
To let it all out, to let it all in,
The music's gonna take you, gonna make you spin.

Bridge:
Let's twist, let's shout, let's do the monkey too,
The Edison Home Phonograph is gonna make you move.
It's the sound of the future, it's the sound of the now,
Let's do the Phonograph dance, gonna show you how.

Chorus:
Come on baby, let's do the Phonograph dance,
It's the latest craze, gonna give you a chance.
To let it all out, to let it all in,
The music's gonna take you, gonna make you spin.

Outro:
Come on everybody, let's get on the floor,
Let's do the Edison Home Phonograph dance once more.
It's the sound of the 60s, it's the sound of the night,
Let's do the Phonograph dance, gonna do it right.

"The Broken 78 RPM Record Blues," a blues song about a broken record:

Verse 1:
I got the broken 78 RPM record blues,
Can't listen to my favorite tunes.
My record player's ready to go,
But the vinyl's shattered, and the music won't flow.

Chorus:
Oh, the broken 78 RPM record blues,
It's got me feeling so down and confused.
I can't enjoy my favorite sound,
My heart is heavy, and my mood is down.

Verse 2:
I tried to glue it back together,
But the cracks just seem to get better.
It was a classic from the '20s,
But now it's just a pile of broken pieces.

Chorus:
Oh, the broken 78 RPM record blues,
It's got me feeling so down and confused.
I can't enjoy my favorite sound,
My heart is heavy, and my mood is down.

Verse 3:
I'll have to go out and find a new one,
Maybe one that's never been undone.
But it won't be the same, it won't be as sweet,
As the one I had, with all its skips and beats.

Chorus:
Oh, the broken 78 RPM record blues,
It's got me feeling so down and confused.
I can't enjoy my favorite sound,
My heart is heavy, and my mood is down.

Outro:
I got the broken 78 RPM record blues,
But I'll keep on searching for a replacement soon.
