1910s / '20s Music in Roanoke, VA?

Post by vintagetenor »

To some on this forum (record collectors, musicologists, etc.), music 1s a primary interest, which is why I'm posting this here. I hope this topic is not inappropriate.

Are there any musicians in the Roanoke, VA area that play or aspire to play the popular music of the 1910s and '20s? I play tenor banjo and am looking into the possibility of getting a small band together.

Thanks, Curt! Kinney's credentials are sure impressive.

But I play the popular music (Tin Pan Alley and show tunes) of the 1910s and '20s, not the rural genre he plays.
