Yesterday was the anniversary of Al Bowly's death in 1941.

For those who are not familiar with the events of his death, I will explain that he died in London from bomb-blast concussion during an air raid, with not a mark on his body, apparently. Wartime practicalities had him buried in a mass grave with other blitz victims.

My wife, who is a major Al Bowly fan, organised a small memorial celebration last night. We played most of our Al Bowly 78s.
