How to access the spring on this Thorens motor

How do I get the barrels to separate from the shaft and then how to access the main springs. One is broken. Thanks for any advice.

Again the same system as for the hmv/Victor motors; the lid of the barrel is pressure closed. But in the case of thorens, if I remember well, the lid border has a small square gap at one place where you can introduce a small screwdriver to press the lid out. Be careful, for the lid might be pot metal, and if it has signs of cracking, it might break in case too much force is applied. For using the spring arbour or the weight of the spring to take out the lid, follow this link;

Once the first lid and spring are out, either you can extract the entire arbour, which might be common to both springs, or you proceed the same with the second barrel. The arbour is the only connection between the two springs.
I believe both lids may have the square cutout for the screwdriver as is seen in your photo for the second barrel:
