VV-XIV Worm Gear Collar

Post by mrbechet »

I’ve disassembled the entire motor on my VV-XIV but cannot get the collar to slide up the worm gear. I’ve removed the set screw.

Any suggestions on getting it loose?

Thanks all!

It's most likely "glued" in place with old, dried oil. Warm it up with a torch till it just begins to smoke a bit and it should come loose. Should take maybe 10 - 15 seconds of heat, at the most.
