Picked up a cheap Columbia Eagle entirely covered with a light layer of rust basically for spare parts but now thinking more along the line of trying to resurrect it.
What have member been using to clean up all the metal hardware??
Thanks in advance

I would try to remove the rust with the finest '0000' grade wire wool. This is often used for polishing metal and should remove the surface rust. It can be used with a little thin oil or WD40 which will help lubricate the process. You can finish with an ordinary brass or chrome metal polish.
'000' or stronger may mark the metal. Stronger grades would only be used to remove more severe rust.
