Your Model 5 H was one of the last portables with the RCA Victor label on it produced about 1945. Make sure that the reproducer needle is around a 60 degrees angle when playing a record. That is the needle straight down is 90 degrees and tip it forward till it hits around 60 degrees with the needle pointing foreword. Always change the needle for each record. Tom
