Victor Rear Mount Horn Elbows - Question

Post by Jerry B. »

Is there a method or insurance policy to make sure the Victor horn does not fall out of the elbow? Is there a glue that is heat sensitive and when you wanted to separate the horn from the elbow you could heat it with a hair dryer or heat gun?

I'll always wonder why Victor switched. Victor front mount elbows screwed onto the horn but the company went with the pin for rear mount horns past the Rigid Arm era. :?

Would hot glue re-heat at a low enough temperature for future disassembly without harming the plating on the elbow?

I've never had a Victor horn fall out. I've noticed a loose one now and then that scared me, but never had it actually fall off. I think as long as the elbow is nice and round, and the slot is not distorted, and the horn end is also in good shape, with the locking pin sitting straight, you've got little to be concerned over.
