Tip to remove orthophonic rubber back flange?

Post by stetam »

Any advise on removing the hardened rubber flange without cracking the housing? Drilling it?

I suspect that's the way to go, you have to carefully destroy it but by bit so not to force the metal neck around it, or it may break (mazak).

I use a heat gun to soften the old rubber. It comes right out when heated.

I'll have to get a heat gun, what setting do you use?
