I hope these tables prove useful at some point in our repair lives.

Sorry, I don’t agree with your word substitution. :D
Threads per Inch (threading) and Pitch are not interchangeable terms although they are sometimes used this way.

Pitch is actually the distance between one root and the next root (or crest to crest).
Threading (TPI) is how many crests per unit measure. (Inches)

So, pitch is actually the reciprocal of Threads per inch.
The pitch of 20TPI is 1”/20 threads or 0.050”, an unconventional way to refer to UNx threads.
Metric threads use the pitch measurement as in 5 x 0.80M

We should let Starrett know about that...

While you are technically correct, if I were to have used the word "threadings" at any time in my 35 years of manufacturing, I would have been laughed out of the shop. ;)

Mark,

I have no idea what LYO means, but I assume I've offended you. I am truly sorry if that's the case. It was not my intention. Don't punish the rest of us by deleting your helpful information just because I erred in my judgement. :(

Nicely put, Jerry.
I'm sad to see Mark's contribution deleted, from what I could work out it looked as if it could be useful to the group.
