I have a gear that came loose on an Edison Standard . It is the brass gear that drives the pulley. (3rd gear in gear cluster). Anyway, the little gear came off, but appears intact. I was tempted to epoxy it on but thought to ask if there’s a recommended way to affix it. My soldering skills may not be up to the task…

Those usually come loose because the gear has split. Look closely for the crack. If you want to replace it properly, it really needs to be soldered. However, if it's split, it may not be worth doing.

There is an equivalent reproduction gear for the Home which actually comes with a set screw. You flatten out a small area on the spindle, then just put the gear in place and tighten the set screw. I don't know if there's an equivalent gear for the Standard, but if there is, the usual suppliers would probably have it. The Home gear has 19 teeth, so I don't think it would work with your machine.

You could also just get an original spindle and gear assembly from another junk Standard. I wouldn't think that would be difficult to find.

It's an easy solder job, just look on YouTube for soldering videos if you aren't sure... Same kind of job as soldering a copper pipe.
60/40 Solid lead solder works best with "NOKORODE" regular paste soldering flux.

Thanks for all of the info! I think I’m going with a replacement gear this time. But, the soldering videos have captured my interest and may practice that a bit this fall

I did find a crack on the gear after zooming in to the max. I’ll keep it as a backup, maybe for the next round after I get better at fixing it.
