So, I am stripping and refinishing a VV-XI that was given to me a few months ago. The lower portion of the rear legs have wood blocks glued on to increase the width, which are then carved to make the feet. In order for the joint to remain invisible, the junction must be sanded to a feather edge. It seems that the stripper has separated the joint and it keeps splintering as I sand it. I suppose the right thing to do is to unglue the joint completely and reglue. Any other ideas that aren't so drastic?
Thanks.
