Victor Horn & Elbow Help!

Post by Jerry B. »

I have a Victor and the horn seems very insecure in the elbow. Nothing is bent or misshaped but it's way too easy to separate the horn from the elbow. Anyone have a good solution? I was wondering if there's a glue that would come apart with a little heat. Suggestions?

Thanks, Jerry B.

You could shim the horn part the goes into the elbow with some thin cardboard or paper. I wouldn't glue it in though.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try.

Try another horn in the elbow to see if it's the horn or elbow.

Did you try shimming the horn? Or, what worked for you?

If you’ve determined that the elbow is the issue you can place those little felt dots on the inside of the elbow where you want to reduce the looseness somewhat. I’ve done this several times with great results. Hopefully this helps.

That sounds like a really good idea. I was successful using a little electrical tape as a shim on the horn. Thanks for the good ideas everyone.
