Spring Crimp Tool

Post by Phono-Phan »

I was given this neat little tool for crimping the inner part of a mainspring. I will have to give it a try on my next spring repair. There are no maker's marks anywhere on it. The search is on for other similar tools for different size arbors.

Hi Ken- I saw one of these years ago in another collector's tool box. I wish I could have gotten it. He was primarily an "Edison man".. in fact he worked at the Edison Site in Florida, but I couldn't tell you if it is an Edison tool, Victor or generic.
Definitely nice to have.

wonder if these modern concave pliers would do the same thing as far as curling the end of a spring??

They look a bit thick on the outside, I would grind off the corners at least.
