Greetings!
I am working on a 1929 Victor RE-75. I've gotten the amplifier, radio, and turntable all working incredibly well. Sounds beautiful. I am now at the point of the electric pickup. I can connect it wThe mystery and advice solicited is rebuilding sequence, and with what sort of rubber, etc. I am reading about 80 ohms resistance on the tonearm terminals, so I am gathering the coil is still intact. If anyone knows, I would appreciate the help.

Update:
I just checked it on an oscilloscope, and touched the needle. No deflection. Checked with ohmmeter, and it went open. Any theory in how to get a new coil? I can't discern where it broke free, even under a magnifying glass. Attached is a photo of the type of pickup.

I've read that silicone rubber bands work well for replacement rubber -- https://philcoradio.com/library/index.p ... ebuilding/

Possibly the best thing to do with the coil is rewind it with fresh wire.
