If you're only needing the friction material itself, it should just be a small piece of hard felt, such as available here, https://www.mcmaster.com/felt/hardness-rating~hard/

If you need the whole brake arm, that's a different story of course...

Thanks for the info. I am looking just for an original shoe (only the material, not the arm) on behalf of a customer who somehow thinks he has a defective Opera because the brake shoe on his was replaced when it was restored this past year. I sold him the Opera a few weeks ago and he is being very difficult about this. Actually I am trying to get him to cancel the purchase and refund his money, which he refuses to do. I have a friend close by who can pick up the machine. I really regret selling him this beautiful Opera with a low serial number.
