I always thought it was a very mild lubricant! Woops!, I'll have to get some 3 in 1 oil when I can!

As I wrote earlier, I wouldn't recommend 3-In-One oil either. It's parafin based and gets sticky over the course of a year or two.

Yep - I have an original piece of literature with that recommendation. I suspect there was a financial arrangement between the two firms.

I've used Singer sewing machine oil on gramophones & phonographs for over 30 yrs, and have never found it dry up or become sticky over time like some other oils are said to.

Hi Alex, you want to use FINE oil for lubricating phonograph mechs and the like. Find out where there is a Gun-shop in your area and buy a can of GUN OIL. You can get a small can of it for about £3 which will last you for ages. Its a great oil for governor pads
