Thinning a few things around the house and time to part with an electric VE8-30X as I have a spring wound model and don't need two. The bad - the top looks to have been stripped at some point and there are paint specks on the sides and a few dings here and there. The grill cloth isn't original, it's something I obtained from Richmond Designs who said he sold these to others as an acceptable match. The tonearm support is a replacement that George Vollema fixed me up with when I got the unit. Bun feet are all intact. When I got the machine a few years back I had planned on having it refinished but never got around to it.
Asking $150.00 or best offer. Note that it will not be provided with the reproducer as I'd like to keep that as a spare for mine. Local pickup in Livonia, MI only. Hopefully someone is looking for their first Credenza style machine as I was years ago when I eagerly got this from another member here. Can send more pictures on request. Thanks for looking!

Somebody should buy this. Even with a reproducer missing it's a great price on a Victrola in very nice condition--and just think, not only does it have Orthophonic sound, but no more cranking! Anyone who buys symphony box sets will appreciate that.
Get a junky, fall-apart Ortho soundbox and buy the replica body shells and bearings, and build your own like a kit. Boom, then it's good for the next 500 years.

I believe I read where Ron Sitko has them, although when I got mine I had Shenandoah put one together from parts I had. Wasn't aware of Ron at the time.startgroove wrote:Who has the replica body shells, please?

Yep, that is the same the one! I still enjoy playing it! With getting the spring wound model with a better condition cabinet and recently adding 3 jukeboxes as yet another hobby, just thought I'd thin a few things out. Was hoping there might be a new collector that would be excited as I was to get my first Orthophonic machine. If it doesn't sell, I've got no problem keeping it
