I bought the ones below at automotive fasteners co in Greensboro. I used a torch to heat them cherry red to burn off the zinc plating. Ran them thru the glass bead blasting cabinet and they were ready to paint or send to nickel player.
I brought two to the camps show. Don't know who bought them, check your fellow members :)

I think they were 12-24 thread and ¾ long, I will look sat in the shop to see if I have an original or another new

Try this place:
https://www.boltdepot.com/Wire_eye_bolt ... 10-24.aspx
For some reason the page doesn't come up but click to see the catalog and you will find what you need

These are the eye bolts I bought over the weekend: 12-24 zinc plated eye bolts - https://www.boltdepot.com/Catalog.aspx
I bought a bag of 20 for $6.60 plus $4.95 shipping - the most reasonable price I could find. Now all I need to do is cut them to the right length.
These aren't easy to find in stores, I checked Lowes, Home Depot, etc. with no luck...
