SOLD : TWO SPECIAL EDISON BLUE AMBEROLS - VARIOUS

Post by Shawn »

Here we have two very special Blue Amberol Cylinders. Both in excellent playing condition. Both without playing surface issues. Both in original boxes with lids. Great copies!

The first record, I have never found another copy of in 35 years of collecting. It is
  • 4520 – The Knocker – Edward Clark
This is a descriptive record. It is really cool, but hard to describe what is actually going on in the story. It is about a guy with what sounds like a North Eastern accent talking about famous people, the San Francisco earthquake, Vaudeville, etc. I found a transfer of the record on Diamond Disk at the Discography of American Historical Recordings. That link follows. Please note, while the exact same tune, the link plays a DD record, not the cylinder being sold here.

After you listen to it, I am sure you will agree, odd, but totally cool. A great, odd, and very seldom found record to add to your collection:

Price is $40.00

The second record is a great and truly fun uplifting tune with a cool chorus. SOLD
  • 4963 – How do you do – Billy Jones and Ernest Hare - The Happiness Boys
While this is a great and recognizable tune, what makes this record special is that in one chorus is sung "How do you do Mr. Edison, How do you do?"
The reference to Edison is really cool.
