SOLD: Talkophone Clarke Project with Wood Horn - $1600

It's time to start thinking about some projects to carry you thru the winter. For your project restoration consideration, here's a rear-mount Talkophone Clarke with a smooth Music Master wood horn. Serial No. is 2909V.

It needs plenty of TLC as further described:

The Good:
100% complete except for the crank
Motor is correct for the machine
The Clarke model is right below the Sousa in terms of top-of-the-line machines for Talkophone. Case size and looks is similar to the Victor MS
Case is tight, solid, and complete. Motor board is level. No gouges or dings. All trim is present. Great example
Nice back bracket paint and striping
Original reproducer, arm, and horn elbow
Rare Music Master wood horn for an off-brand machine
GREAT and LARGE nickel plated dealer tag. Never seen one so big!

The So So:
The case finish has little shellac left and has a light finish. The case should be refinished a little darker to match the horn.
Motor runs fine but will need basic servicing (cleaning and lubing)
No case decal
Reproducer should be rebuilt
Turntable felt should be replaced
The wood horn seams have come apart. When handling it in person, it's very apparent that (with some patience) the wood panels will clamp back together for gluing without much effort or pressure. You will just need to take time and do one panel at a time. Won't be hard for a good wood worker.
The horn finish appears to be original in places and then top coated in others. Looks like the existing finish can be preserved with a little rubbing and polishing.

The Bad:
The crank is wrong and was slotted to fit the machine.
Other than the incorrect crank, nothing really. Just needs some refinishing and TLC.
