I totally forgot about the wooden top Zonophones, the one I had was an earlier rear mount with a metal top that was drilled for a front mount arm. Mine was apparently a transition model between front and rear mount setups and still used the "S" shaped crank. Before I sold mine, I made a pattern from the Zono crank to use on my Symphonion music box which came with some type of meat grinder crank. My home made crank is pictured below...
