Hawthorne & Sheble Rear Mounted Crane
Light pitting, light rust, should clean-up very nicely.
$200 includes shipping in the USA.

Thanks for looking!

The H&S #4 crane was the first widely-available crane that mounted to a Phonograph or Graphophone, allowing the owner to dispense with a floor crane. These were introduced in 1899, and are occasionally found on Edison "suitcase" Homes and Standards, as well as Type A Graphophones. This example features brackets that support the lower rod an inch or so from the cabinet - - allowing its use on Edison "New Style" cabinets from 1901 onward. These #4 cranes were available until the more common #5 became available in 1904.

Nice crane!

Judging by the small screw holes on the back of my Triumph A, this was probably the crane with which it was originally fitted.

When I got it, it had a later, front mounted H&S crane. The change may or may not have happened when it was upgraded to 2/4 minute gearing, and the horizontal carriage...

I could use clean original Cygnet Horn Crane rods, with adjustment knob and spring.
I have the back bracket.

It's for a 10 panel horn and will be use on a Standard B with a horizontal carriage, as pictured.

I would consider an even trade.

I have the proper cygnet crane for the horizontal reproducer and would trade, but I don't have the hanger mechanism.
