4-spring motor, gold-plated hardware. Excellent cabinet, motor and reproducer. Looks and plays great. Local pickup in Bedford, PA only.

I recently had the motor worked on professionally and this describes what the repairman did:

[Customer] sent in a non-working 4 spring Columbia motor for repair. It was disassembled and it was discovered that the mainspring in the the #4 spring barrel was broken at the inner end. The #2 mainspring was distorted at the inner end and it was cleaned and reshaped. All parts were cleaned in an ultrasonic bath and inspected. The governor was disassembled, cleaned and shaft and pivots polished in the lathe. The governor disc was polished on the inside and the outside.

The gears were found to be in good condition. The broken mainspring was replaced with a good used one and the motor was assembled, lubed and timed. The start/stop lever needed adjustment, but it now works as it should. The motor runs quietly.
