Looking for an RCA supplied horn driver for the Victor 10-51 Automatic. It was also used in the later 8-60 and 9-40 machines. These typically did not survive very well due to potmetal parts. One in any condition would be welcome.
Thanks!
Mark

Still looking for a driver like the one pictured in any condition. I don’t need the smaller horseshoe type.
Thanks,
Mark

Still looking for a horn driver in any condition. Here's a photo of the 1927 VE-10-51. It is housed in the same cabinet as the original Victor Automatic Orthophonic VE-10-50 but with electrical reproduction in place of the acoustic method. It was expensive and not many were sold. The last of them had to be discounted significantly to clear the way for the cheaper and better performing VE-10-69 in 1928.
Thanks for checking your parts bins for a horn driver. It is called “loud speaker unit” in this diagram.

Still searching for a few more of these Victor horn drivers, they are needed to test the new driver castings that we have under development.
A set of working prototype castings has been produced and tested.
We are working towards the second step of making these available to others but need more drivers to use for testing.
Let us know if you can help.
Here is a sample recording using the prototype driver played through a VE-10-51 Orthophonic horn.

Beautiful! Would the final product be 3D printed, (in plastic? or metal?), or a casting?

Thanks to all who have responded so far!
Jerry, several materials and methods are being investigated.
We are still looking for a few more drivers to purchase for our experiments.
Thanks for helping out!

Wow. I'm not sure I've ever seen this driver. Very cool.
