Folks,
Today we have two sets of items. Both can be shipped at nominal expense to the new owner. Contact me at MShawnORourke@gmail.com with interest.
The first is a super rare North American Phonograph Company token. The Ohio Phonograph Company was founded in 1888 as an affiliate of the North American Phonograph Company. Under the leadership of James L. Andem, the company operated coin-operated phonograph arcades in Cincinnati and Cleveland until its bankruptcy in January of 1897. In fact, the Ohio Phonograph Company was a pioneer, grouping machines together in its arcades, at a time when other companies placed machines individually in local businesses.
This nickel token was issued by the Ohio Phonograph Company as a means of advertising and for use in its arcades.
North American (approximately 1892 - 1894) tokens are exceedingly rare to find. The price is $185.00
The second is a set of 6 tokens from The Callie Brothers. August Arthur and Adolph Arthur Caille were natives of Detroit, Michigan. In August 1901 the brothers filed for the articles of incorporation in the state of Michigan for The Caille Brothers Co. Located downtown Detroit Michigan, by 1904, The Caille Brothers Co. was the largest employer in the city of Detroit with the largest factory in the USA devoted to the production of coin-slot machines. The Callie Brothers produced several coin-operated phonograph models. They would have been placed next to competitors in coin-operated parlors - Penny Arcades. To differntiate their machines, they had these nickel tokens made.
Unusual to find 6 of them together, they are offered here as a set for your machine. The price is $50.00 for all 6
