FOR SALE: Edison 10 Panel Cygnet Horn $365

Post by Crank_it_up »

I have an Edison 10 panel Cygnet Horn for sale. It is the early design that used an attaching hanger without the use of a spring. This one includes the swivel connector that rides inside the horn and on the outside of the reproducer. Rarely do you find these complete with the correct swivel. This type takes a little more time to get it set up but once it’s adjusted it stays. The horn is very straight overall. There is one panel that has a couple dimples and another panel that has some paint loss as seen in the pics. The decals are dirty but might clean up. This is just as I found it. The finish on the inside is nice and should clean up nicely. The outside of the bell is not as good as the inside but a good polishing should do it. The elbow will need more attention possibly a repaint. It’s about personal preference, I think it will be good after a good polish while others might not like it unless it’s perfectly restored. Shipping will be actual cost. Preferred payment is with check or money order but you can PM for options. Thanks, Joe

I can’t edit the title line but here’s another price drop to $340. If it doesn’t sell soon I will sell it in separate pieces.
Thanks.

Do you have the crane? If not, do you know where one could find one? I am interested, but am looking for a complete setup, including the bracket for the back of the phonograph. Thank you!

PS. Doesn’t have to be an original crane. Just looking for functionality.

This would be a great buy KCW just remember that the crane for a horizontal carriage is a little different than the normal one. You can buy them on Ebay from a couple of different sellers. It does have what appears to be a Tiz-it already on it, Thats a big plus. I just bought a reproduction horn for the same price and if you look on Ebay they are going for way more than this. Just putting my two cents in.

I have not purchased a reproduction crane for some time but suspect finding one for a rigid hanger will be even more difficult. Ron Sitko and I assume Brian Parlier, sell the ball hanger that is more common and slightly later than the rigid hanger. It would be really really easy to spread the retainer flaps, remove the rigid hanger, and replace with the ball hanger and the cost should be minimal. The believe that would make it much easier to find the correct reproduction crane.
