Everyone will know how rare this is, especially in the States. You’ll never find another one. It looks in lovely condition too.

Very nice... As a sideline... could we have the data about the machine for the TMF records? Kind of: type of motor, characteristics, measurements, serial nos., etc?

This model was the culmination of practical research and science. It reached the pinnacle of reproduction of music for its time.
With the horns 29½“ bell diameter and it’s even longer internal conduit, the Mk Xb was designed to compete with the then predominant Expert Senior.

MODEL: E.M.G Mk Xb C.1933
MOTOR: Paillard GGR 255 or Collaro D30
SOUNDBOX: EMG 4-Spring Brass, Nickel plated
HORN: Davey Isophonic 29½" Bell
CASE: Veneered Oak.

The owner is an elderly lady with little tech savvy, hence the quality of the pics. She couldn't figure out how to remove the turntable so the motor is either a Paillard GGR 255 or Collaro D30. It apparently belonged to a famous professor who died recently.

The horn and case look stunning. The only blemish looks like the metal parts may have some oxidation and the nickel plating seems to be worn.
This will sound better than any re-entrant.

Does it come with one reproducer or with two? Our EMG came with an Orthophonic reproducer and an EMG reproducer

Just the one EMG 4-spring reproducer. It looks untouched.
For those of you who are asking. Yes I am in Australia. The EMG is for collection from Thousand Oaks California USA. I am only helping out the seller. The buyer will deal directly with the seller.
I have not seen the EMG in person but to me it looks like it is in lovely untouched condition and with a simple clean would be stunning.

Very nice item!! I live in Oregon state. I wish I can pick it up. I am wondering how much she wants for this.

Hello

If she needs any advice, I live about 30 miles from Thousand Oaks. Wish I could buy it!

I am told by a British friend that $5,000 would be a bargain, but it is more in the range of $10-$15,000.00 retail.

$6700 at the moment. A bargain for the peak of acoustic reproduction.
