I have always preferred the early Victor brass bell horns like this one over the later Victor black flower horns. The original owners of this particular Victor I opted to upgrade the smaller Victor I horn to a larger Victor II brass bell horn by purchasing an original Victor I horn adapter.
As many of you know, the Victor horn adapter has a male Victor I bayonet horn connection on one end and a female Victor II bayonet horn connection on the other end. So, the slightly larger Victor II horn on this Victor I adds some additional interest to this particular Victor I.
This Victor I has its original 8-inch turntable and round-hole Exhibition reproducer (versus the later and far more common triangular hole Exhibition reproducer). It also has a nice original cabinet finish and its other nice original parts. The original filigree hand stenciling on the rear horn bracket is mostly intact and decent. There is one crank escutcheon screw missing. The current screw holds the escutcheon nice and tight but I will try to locate another one.
I've done absolutely nothing (except lubrication) to this Victor I phonograph since I purchased it many years ago from the original owner's family. I'm simply gradually downsizing a little.
Have a look at the pictures and play the video to see and hear how nicely this Victor I phonograph plays.
Please note that my video camera has a VERY sensitive microphone so the motor sound is more pronounced in the video than in person.
Please send a PM with interest and to discuss further details. This would make a SUPER Christmas gift for your special someone or even for YOU!
Thanks,
Doug
