I used to own a Brunswick just like that one in the ad. It should have a cloth backed grille over the horn. At the price they're asking the seller should offer to have a new one made for you.
BB, you must be confused -- that is a Bostwick! ;)

Yeah, and at that price it should be made out of solid gold!

FOR SALE IS THIS NICE VICTOR TALKING MACHINE CO. PHONOGRAPH. IT IS MODEL # VV-XI-A, SERIAL # 400763. THIS DATES IT'S MANUFACTURE TO 1917. IN GOOD CONDITION, WITH A COUPLE ISSUES: A PLANT WAS PLACED ON THE TOP AT SOME TIME IN IT'S PAST, WHICH HAS LEFT A ROUND WATERMARK; NEEDS THE HINGES FOR THE FOUR DOORS, WHICH ARE NOT CURRENTLY ATTACHED; I CANNOT GET IT TO WORK, ALTHOUGH I DON'T REALLY KNOW HOW TO OPERATE IT. RIGHT AFTER THE HANDLE IS CRANKED SOMETHING SEEMS TO UNWIND INSIDE, WITHOUT THE TURNTABLE TURNING.

ALTHOUGH THIS NEEDS SOME WORK, IT WILL MAKE A GREAT PIECE OF ANTIQUE FURNITURE WHEN ALL FIXED UP!

I HAVE MORE PICS. JUST EMAIL AND I'LL SEND THEM.

EMAIL WITH ANY QUESTIONS, OR IF YOU'D LIKE TO TAKE A LOOK IN PERSON.

THANKS FOR LOOKING. CHRIS

Well let's see, one of the most common Victrola's ever made in the most
common finish, and not the greatest condition either. Lay off the
crack pipe, PLEASE!

"Victorola Circa 1916 (Pewaukee, WI)

Model No. VVXIV. Comes with needs (some are wooden) and a selection of 78's. Make offer. The Victrola is in good shape except one of the legs at the very bottom needs repair. Still works."
