Henry Jones gets the credit (supposedly) for coming up with the gaskets made of tubular rubber (around the diaphragm). This seems also to have been used by Robert Gibson.

Henry Jones generally did most of his work (originally) for the American Talking Machine Co. (Vitaphone). I think he was mentioned in the old "The Phonograph Book" by MacFarlane.

His (Henry's) work is also listed and dated in: 'The Patent History of the Phonograph, 1877-1912.' As is Gibson too.
