A wonderfully heartwarming story and the photos are priceless. Congratulations to Mack on his beautiful VV-XVI, and very kind thoughts to everyone else involved. :)

I hope Mack enjoys his Victrola for many years.

George P.
I bet he will. His mother is 102 and lives by herself in Georgia. Like a good son, he treks up there with his wife, brother, etc. every 2 - 3 months or so, and I'll bet on the next trip he will bring the phonograph with him just to show her. He's that kind of guy.

Mack's excitement is what Edison tried to capture in his ads... even the Old Couple print. What an experience it must have been to hear a "talking machine" for the first time. Mack's expression is wonderful. In the age of digital everything, Victrolas still elicit a special reaction. No doubt Mack's enthusiasm is as genuine as those early 1900's buyers. Thanks for sharing Rafael-- A great story for a Saturday evening!

What does Mack restore? If he restores hand crank phonographs, he's the only one I've heard of that doesn't already have his own collection.
