An expert told him....

Post by Dave »

Well...seems there's always a new trick in the crapophone makers bag...
just put a little "ornate tin plate" on it, pretend an expert told you some good news
that will make it so much more enticing for the potential suck..uhh..errr...buyer!

Yeah...sure it will...
Just like the outhouse with a coat of new paint...still smells bad where it counts.

Starting bid:US $1,080.00
Price:US $1,795.00

“Original Antique, not a reproduction. No cracks or breaks. Plays well.”
This Victrola is in Excellent Antique condition. It has a very ornate tin horn and embossed tin over what I think is mahogany. I was told by an expert that the tin enhances this piece and that is more likely then not a Victrola III, Talking Machine. Please use the pictures as your best description. Horn measures approx. 15" in Diameter. The Victrola including horn is approx. 28" tall. Minor blemishes, but nothing that effects the overall beauty of this lovely piece. Please look at all pictures provided and utilize the Ebay magnifier to the examine condition. Priced to sell. Appraisal suggested over twice as much as my buy it now price.

REALLY... "A VICTROLA III TALKING MACHINE"??? I hope they didn't pay the idiotic "appraiser" anything for the false information...

My God, that thing is disgusting! Too bad there isn't a puking smiley, I'd use it instead of this one...

I see that this monstrosity has now been withdrawn from sale.
As a Briton, I would have liked to have pointed out to the expert "Appraiser" that as the badge states "His Master's Voice, The Gramophone Company" it is therefore not an American Victor but a BRITISH product.
But, then again, maybe not.

In short, is not liberty the freedom of every person to make full use of his faculties, so long as he does not harm other persons while doing so?
