OFF-BRAND (again)

Post by briankeith »

Those who know me know that my #1 favorite talking machines are off-brands US made or from Europe. And yes,,, I pay way too much for them! My latest little 10" cutie is a Yale Bluebird I just snagged on EBay for a tad over $200.00 (yep - too much I know) The reproducer is a knock-off of the Victor Exhibition,, German made. I like these as they fit well on book shelves, wall units, etc. just like the little Edison Gems, Columbia Q's, and the smaller Pathé cylinder machines. Less room means more talking machines

So you got that little Yale Bluebird machine. I was very tempted as well. Congratulations!

I also like the oddball machines with unusual cabinets. It makes for an interesting collection. As for price, who's to say you paid too much. Jerry Blais

That is a neat little machine, congrats. I am curious, how do you feel the sound is?

I saw that machine and was going to bid on it, too. But, I bought too many things this month and didn't want to blow my budget. Congrats, a very nice machine.
