Lundstrom Cabinet

Post by dutchman »

Found this on C's list the other day and could not pass it up. The gentleman also had the VV-VI-a that went with it. Needs a minor amount of TLC but in pretty good condition. I need to make the piece that fits behind the machine and which holds the needle cups, the original is there but sort of split. The VI-a runs great. $275 for all. Just a week or so ago I told my wife ok I'm through collecting

I've always found the Lundstrom cabinets very interesting. Looks like a nice outfit. Jerry B.

Ver nice cabinet. I would try and fix the original board for the needle cups instead of making a new one. Making a new one would be a last resort if the original was missing.

Congrats, nice set up. I agree to have the existing board to be repaired. It doesn't look all that difficult. If you have a god set of clamps, you can probably fix it yourself. You say you are through with collecting?????Nah!!Sooner or later, another one will bite you.!!

Concur - I glued the piece and the split is virtually invisible. I have one of the needle cups in the junk box - guess I'll have to give George V a call...........

The Lundstrom is a nice unit. It looks like a mission style cabinet. I have one too, but mine fits a vv-iv.

It looks to me like the way the doors on the cabinet and the doors on the residing inside player work with each other would result in somewhat of a horn extension thus creating a fuller sound.

Wow, that is a nice one. Lori and I found one a couple of years ago. It looks just like yours, except the needle cup board is different. The doors, do act like a horn extension, although It doesn't seem like the volume increases much, maybe a few db. Russie Ofria

Very nice startgroove - gotta love oak. Yes your needle cup board is different. Unfortunately I am missing the needle cups and have that feeling I am never going to come up with them - sent George V an email, hopefully he will come through as he always does. He advised his operation will be limited for several weeks, limited email only. Cheers

phonographs.org has lots of different needle cups for sale. Check it out, maybe he has your size as well.

Good luck!
