This is NOT a rare disc, by any means, even in mint shape, but obviously the two bidders both want it badly.

Wow.
I've even got 2 or 3 copies on the HMV label.
It is fairly popular though, if youtube views are anything to go by.

I've seen winning bids on records that were so high that the buyer could easily have used the money to buy several very nice phonographs on which to play the record.

It'll sure be interesting to see if it breaks the $100 barrier...but as others say this is crazy for such a common disk.

I just noticed the opening bid was $3.99. I love Billy Murray, but I would have passed this up even at that price.
I want to meet the winner of this auction. I have some records by Prince's Orchestra I'd like to unload. I'm even willing to let them go for a measly $25.00 apiece.

Someone is giving away money to spend lately on common records.. I am still amazed at some of the outrageous prices some have paid lately for otherwise pretty standard fare. On the other hand I just got three wonderful records that for some reason were totally ignored.. Great condition late Edison Acoustic pieces, One I had never heard of the pianist before but I thought the label said "piano solo" but it was hard to make out, Its called Beside A Garden Wall & I've lost all my Love for you played by Constance Mering #51870. One other is a violin and piano selection played by Crawford Adams and Claude Garreau, "C'est Vous & Honolulu Moon" #51986. The third is more of a standard waltz piece but good. I think the cost about 3.99 each. I am happy with them for sure.
