Here by coincidence is one for sale. The seller's location "New York, UK" seemed odd until I consulted an atlas. There is a Newyork (one word not two) in Argyll and Bute, one of the more remote areas of Scotland.

Re: Identify Unknown columbia portable
Perhaps the news that Scotland voted narrowly against independence in the recent referendum has yet to reach some parts of Argyll and Bute......

Re: Identify Unknown columbia portable
Look very carefully at the photograph of the machine, then at the illustration in the pamphlet. There are a few differences. In the pamphlet, the internal horn opening is on the right hand side of the machine, whereas in the photograph, it's on the left The arm in the pamphlet is mounted on an extension which goes into the internal horn, on the photograph the arm is screwed to the motorboard. In the pamphlet, there is a spring clip to hold the arm on the right hand side, in the photograph, there is no clip, just a little round well to rest the soundbox in. The lid release catch is also at the opposite end to that in the pamphlet. That said, there is no getting away from the fact that the model number decal on the motor board seems to be original.
