2 Graphophone Eagle's on Ebay cheap

Post by fmblizz »

Looks like a good deal for someone.

For $325 you get a running machine (Graphophone B) with original horn and a spare parts machine.

Figuring you could easily sell the horn (which the seller said is original and look to be the case) and the original reproducer for $100 a piece bringing the cost of the 2 machine down to only $125.00. (no lid but seller says it works)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Columbia-Grapha ... 1616439545?

I got too many project on the table all ready. Seems like a quick flip at the Wayne show.

Me. :) I needed some bits to finish a machine.

So yes, I will sell the remains at Wayne or through the forum....John Duffy

So.....like "neelam" you are going to take apart a good machine and sell the separate parts?

Like Neelam...That is actually a stretch. Neither of these machines is complete. Or it could be the definition of "a good machine" where we differ.

I see an analogy to organ donation. I can complete my machine, and I have already received 3 other unsolicited emails for parts necessary to complete 3 other Q's. I personally would never take apart a complete, perfectly good machine - which is not the case here. Net there will be 4 completely functional Q machines instead of two incomplete rough machines. With more parts for others in need. That sounds good to me. John

I think someone is waaaay off base with the assessment of Johns transaction. Read the Ebay listing again and rethink your analogy. Neelam is notorious for dismantling complete working machines and selling them off for their individual part. If anyone were to click on a Neelam's listing and then click on Neelam's other Ebay auction listings, more times then not you can probably assemble a complete operational machine if you are the winning buyer on a half dozen or more of Neelam's listings. Simple fact is perfectly good machines are disassembled and parted out for the sake of money.

Both Pro's and Con's for this cannibalization but I think the purchase of these 2 machines by John is not even in the ball park to be considered a comparison.
