WANTED: Reproducer Label for Columbia BI

Post by Bruce »

I am repairing a friends Columbia BI and she would like a label for the inside of the reproducer, behind the mica. She does not need an original or even one that belongs with the Columbia but something that looks nicer than bare metal.

Does anyone have an image of a label that I can print off and place in the reproducer for her?

I have already checked Gregg Cline's web site with no luck.

Thanks

Bruce

Bruce, This Columbia reproducers never had a label. They were engraved with the Columbia patent date of 1906. I believe that Ron Sitko has them and Justin Shaub of JAS antiques.

I can't imagine that bothering anyone. Anyway, in the past, I have Xeroxed the image of a reproducer from a book, resized it a bit and did a little retouch where needed. It came out extremely well and under the mica, it looks perfect.

Bruce, may I suggest you use a colored (maroon, green, or blue, as your client desires) background with gold edges, like a record label, with "Columbia Graphophone" around the top? You could piece this together with images from the internet, and maybe include the "Notes" in the bottom half.
