Chuck? $20K plus? Am I thinking too small? $30K plus? Not like there are many of them around, certainly not in that condition. By the way, I see it's already vanished, gone from ebay, so apparently someone made an offer that couldn't be refused.

An easy $15K - $20K, maybe more after seeing what that Berliner sold for last week.

I'll bet pulling the auction pissed off a few of the bidders. Maybe they just decided to see what it really was worth, obviously with the low starting price they didn't know what they had.

The last Bell-Tainter Type K I was aware of sold privately for $30K. It was missing the reproducer. These are super rare machines. Disappointing to see it pulled.

I remember 15 years ago a very original Type G turned up on eBay and created quite a stir. Bidding soared fairly quickly up to $18K, still below reserve. Then the seller pulled it. I sent a message to ask why and he replied that he had no intention of selling it, he just wanted to find out what it might be worth. He had put a $20K reserve on it so he pulled it out of fear it would hit reserve and he would be obliged to sell it.
