Record Flasher

Post by rgordon939 »

Another find today, a Record Flasher. It's in the original box with the sales slip. I must admit I've not seen one of these before and if someone can tell me what it does and what machines it fits I would be grateful.

Well Sir. That B-250 for sale on Long Island had one added to it.

It's a light that can be mounted inside the record compartment. The leads attach to a battery. If the machine is situated in a dark spot, seeing the edge of the record can be dicey, so this little gizmo is mounted on the right side near the spot when the sound box/reproducer is lowered. Press the little switch (or slide it - different makes operate differently) and the right edge of the disc is lit up.

This same model was mounted inside an B-250 very recently discussed on the eBay/Craigslist section. :)

The Record Flasher is neat. However, somewhat intrusive as you need to make holes into your priced machine. I prefer the Record-Lite (also battery powered). Just slip it over the end of your tone arm and your good to go. No fuss, no muss.. ;).
