I saw an oak XVII like this years ago down in Des Moines. The gal tossed out the
lid removed everything in the motor compartment & lined it with sheet metal to use
it as a planter! This reminded me of that one, only the one in Des Moines
was in really nice shape.

There's a lid for this on eBay right now. Maybe it's the lid!
