Acrylic paint can be handled in the same way but there is one potential drawback. Once it has dried up, it is not water-soluble. That's basically the only reason why I prefer the opaque white for watercolors. Otherwise the handling is very much the same.

Been using Testor's Enamel White Paint in small bottles with a small brush for years with some paper towels, and a small bottle of Ronson's Lighter Fluid to wipe off excess.. Works excellent on Blue Amberols!!..I highly recommend it! ...Never tried it on wax cylinders and probably would not...would probably need something different for wax cylinders. I tried the white shoe polish one time with a couple different brands.. It sucked horribly... I'll save you the trouble and tell you not to use it....but to each his own..

I use a white crayon on wax cylinders. Just rub it across the type and wipe off with felt. It fills the type in very nicely.
