Brunswick Model 117 in oak in Machines
Last Thursday I bought a Brunswick Model 117 in oak.I've waited a long time for it.3 springs in the motor were replaced.I gave the owner of the antique center $230 in cash, plus he gave me a $100 credit for a Brunswick YO console that I have.I'll finish paying for the oak 117 a week from Thursday and the shop owner will deliver it to me,also take the console.Just in time for Christmas!
I tried the Ultona.it plays lateral and vertical Pathé's just dandy, but I heard echo when playing an Edison Diamond Disc. The stylus is worn. After the holidays I'll have my Ultona rebuilt, also have a new diamond put in.I'll have photos posted on the Forum.edisonplayer.BTW;Does anyone know who sold Brunswick phonographs in the Binghamton,NY area?

Mr. Grumpy,
Is that new avatar the "Santa Who Hides in Your Phonograph", (or in your nightmares)?
BTW, Have you ever heard that recording? Not sure how it was back then, but today kids would run screaming if they heard that recording. Sounds spooky and weird! Oh wow, could you make a 10 hour loop of it for YouTube? A specialty of yours!

The Avatar is the Santa from the movie 'A Christmas Story' when Ralphie goes to the department store to visit St. Nick and ask for a Red Ryder BB Gun.JerryVan wrote:Mr. Grumpy,

I have a copy of Santa Who Hides In Your Phonograph on 78, I think a green and white label Brunswick?
Not as spooky as the cylinder version though.
The ten hour loop thing might be doable, if I get REALLY bored over the holidays...
My 5 year old has an aversion to my phonographs and runs out of the room with her hands covering her ears every time I threaten to play one.
It's a good way to clear a room.

Download them from your mail to your computer, then do as suggested here:edisonplayer wrote:My neighbor who took the photos of the Brunswick with her phone was having problems putting them in my Hotmail. She sent them to her sister who sent them to me.I have them now,but I'd like to know how to send them to the Forum. Thanks!edisonplayer
